This week I have switched things up a bit. Due to constantly running late on the school run. (Not technically late, but have arrived right on the bell not a moment before or after for the last 2 weeks, which surely is a skill in itself but also turns me into crazy mama as I push everyone out the door.)
- SO.... I've taken Lucy's suggestion of having my shower the night before rather than in the morning. It was a hard one to adjust to as I rely on my morning shower to wake me up but let me tell you it has made a huge difference and this week we have been super early to school and kindy.
- Oliver has taken to wearing his pants backwards on many occasion as he insists on doing everything himself these days. Due to his need to strip off completely every time he goes on the loo, he somehow manges to re dress himself like this. This was taken after I picked him up from kindy. His undies were on backwards too which must be uncomfortable but so far no complaints.
- I've had my hair cut, which is taking me the usual couple of weeks to sort out how to style and as always the post cut change of mind follows and has me thinking, "actually I really want to grow it long." Bobby pins are my friends today.
- We have a new back yard. Gone is the old fence and up with the new, complete with dog flap so Sam and the neighbours dog Maggie can still have play dates. I'll do a before and after post on this when we have planted and it's fully finished.
- Oliver sits in the pink chair. This is pretty unheard of in our house as Lucy has stakes on that and as such it has been out of bounds for poor old Ollie but check it out, there they are playing nicely with Oliver's butt pride of place on the pink one.
- Because the kids weren't eating their dinner but were super hungry around afternoon tea, We are giving them their dinner at 4pm and if they are still hungry later they are allowed to snack on fruit. It means been super organised and having dinner ready before school pick up but so far it's made our evenings more enjoyable and has eliminated the need for us to sit there forcing them to eat their dinner. (Marcus and mine's least favourite part of the day!)
- Because Marcus isn't back to working yet and is home all day, he has taken on some of the traditional wifey jobs like cooking. He is so much better at it than me but it does feel weird him hanging out in the kitchen so much. If you are in the neighbourhood, feel free to pop around. He makes the best fresh bread and the kids and I are lapping it up while we can. It is going to be a rude shock to them when I'm back to doing dinners.
