On the 1st December this year, it will be 10 years since Marcus and I tied the knot. Since baby number 3 is due the week before our anniversary Marcus took it upon himself to whisk me away this weekend to celebrate it. You see, he knows after 10 years experience of living with me that our anniversary will be the last thing on my mind come December 1st. It will be I'm sure a complete write off and I will be riding the roller coaster of hormones that accompany the body adjusting to giving birth. I know it, and he knows it. I love that he knows it.
So he took me to Wellington. Yay!
We stayed in the same hotel we stayed in the first few nights of our honeymoon those 10 years ago.
Being Guy Fawkes, our nations capital even put on some fireworks for us over the harbour. How sweet.
We ate out every meal, including Logan Brown which has been on our to do list for a while and it lived up to it's reputation. Check out our meals and the personal touch when the desert came out.
We shopped like crazy and got all but a few of the Christmas shopping done. How great is that for someone like me who has a list as long as my arm of things to do before baby arrives. Tick tick tick. Brilliant.
But you know what the best bit of the weekend was? THIS....
We slept, uninterrupted and long into the morning, two mornings in a row. Sleep is a beautiful thing and we have missed it. Thank you to Nana Raeanne who looked after the kids for us allowing us to escape for the weekend and thank you Marcus for 10 amazing years. Have never regretted it for a second.
Love you babe. xx
awww, two thumbs up for Marcus!! :)
